WOW what a day we had yesterday at PITP!! The sky was blue, the sun was shining and Dunk was hot!!! - very hot!!
After a very long, dusty route march around Hyde Park, we eventually found a nice spot to park ourselves for the day, with a nice view of the large screens and not too far from the loos LOL First up was Daniel Bedingfield who performed very well but I felt his set might have been better a little later on as his songs didn't quite get the 100,000 crowd hyped up. Then it was the turn of Girls Aloud and Melanie C. After that came Craig David followed by the Sugababes. It was around this time I think that Dunk put in an appearance on stage and was forced to remove not one but two T-Shirts!! As he peeled the second layer off, he rubbed his T-Shirt over his sweaty chest and then tossed it into the crowd amid much screaming and yelling (most of which came from Terry!!) )O_O By now, she was just a dribbling mass of hormones on the grass!
So after we recovered from the sight of Dunk's nekkid chest, on came young Gareth Gates and then it was the turn of Meaty (Meatloaf) who did a so-so set. I think his best days are behind him to be honest. After that we were treated to Kym Marsh and Blazin' Squad who we sort of ignored LOL and then came on Wheatus! They were probably one of the best acts of the day - they sounded extremely good live and by now the whole park was rocking!! After Atmoic Kitten (time for a trip to the loos), came Shania Twain who again performed a very good set and sounded quite wonderful. Then it was take a trip down memory lane with Mr Tony Hadley formerly of Spandau Ballet in the 1980's who did renditions of Through the Barricades and True (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh).
It was after this at around 4pm that Mr Hayes finally made his appearance on stage to introduce the next act which was Beyonce Knowles (formerly of Destiny's Child). He was looking very sexy in a dark brown (or it could have been black) shirt and shades. He was only on for a couple of minutes. I think he had to dash off after that for a date at the Dior Fashion Show in Paris (what a hard life!
The final segment of the day was probably the best in that we had Mick Hucknall from Simply Red who performed songs from his new album and sounded great, and then came on a young group of 3 lads by the name of Busted. To be honest I didn't really know what to expect of them, but they did the park proud with a rendition of The Jam's That's Entertainment along with The Year 3,000. Next up was Big Brovaz, followed by Liberty X who were also very good live and then the wonderful David Gray who really sounded fabulous. There was by now a really good vibe and groove in the park with people dancing along and thoroughly enjoying themselves. Next up was Misteeq and then it was the turn of some group by the name of Blue I think it was Well they did a thumping set of Fly By, Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word, You Make Me Wanna and finally One Love. Since this is their 3rd consecutive year that they've appeared at PITP, they seem to have made it their own and this year they headlined the line-up. London and PITP definitely belonged to them yesterday!!! They sounded fantastic live and their set was probably the best one!!
I think that this extravaganza of music, fun and frolics for one whole crazy day is set to become an annual event for Terry and I as it's such an enjoyable day filled with so much excitement and good friends having a brilliant time together.

That was a fantastic account of a truly fantastic day Janie! You put it all into words and I've nothing to add..............except *lol* that I thought that Busted, Wheatus, Shania and Blue were the total standout acts from yesterday and the only act that I didn't like one bit was Blazin Squad who are just too boring for words. All of the other acts were extremely watchable and entertaining with some of them (like David Grey) even more so.
A truly fabalicious day and let's hope tha next year is just as good (and that Dunk takes it ALL off, not just his top half!!! *muahahahaha*)

Oh how remiss of me, I was getting a tad carried away recounting Blue's performance that I forgot to add that the finale to the whole day was the cast from Grease. LMAO I think Terry wanted to be one of the pink laydeez cos she had temporarily dyed her hair pink!!!

You two sound as if you had a blast. I didn't think Wheatus sounded too good on the tele but I don't think the tele sound was good for a lot of people. I thought Busted were really good, loved their version of That's Entertainment. Didn't like Blazin Squad at all. Not my cup of tea, sorry. David Gray was excellent. I even thought Gareth Gates was okay.
I thought Dunk made a really good television presenter, him and Denise made a good pair. Not sure about Kate thingy though

Thank you so much Janie and Terry for sharing the excitement of your special day, it was wonderful reading. I did listen to a bit online and was lucky enough to hear Darren's small interview. I found the webcam thingy very frustrating, though I am sure that I did see Darren for a fraction of a second...wearing brown shirt, sunnies and dark trousers, he was sitting on what looked like decking and then stood up and moved off.
I suppose if we're lucky we may see a very condensed version on tv near xmas here, lol!
Well I can hardly keep my eyes open so I'll read your posts again tomorrow morning.
Thanks again for all the exciting things you've experienced this week and shared with us all!!!!
